BigPixture Productions produced four visual effects including wire-removal, CGI smoke, bullet holes, broken glass, and other elements to "enhance reality" for several sequences in Jason Satterlund's feature: The Human Trace. The movie was directed by Jason and produced by his company Big Puddle Films.

The Human Trace centers on a series of mysterious deaths in a once quiet town and the suspected involvement of the local sheriff. The movie was screened for cast, crew and friends in May, 2007. The theater was filled and audience response was overwhelmingly positive.

In 2008, The Human Trace was accepted into two film festivals and was awarded Best Feature during the 2008 Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival.
